Mission Statement
At a moment when the climate crisis demands uncompromising clarity, Earthrise Journal of Nuclear Realism and Climate Justice is founded to reshape the global discourse around energy, justice, and planetary responsibility.
We stand at the intersection of three urgent recognitions:
That meaningful climate justice requires not merely the mitigation of emissions, but the transformation of the political, legal, and energy infrastructures that have enabled ecological destruction.
That nuclear energy, misunderstood and marginalized for decades through campaigns of disinformation, is an indispensable tool for achieving true decarbonization, energy equity, and long-term climate stability.
That realism — moral, scientific, and geopolitical — must replace wishful thinking in confronting the scale and speed of the challenges we face.

Our mission is to create a new intellectual space for:
Rigorous scholarship on the legal, ethical, and policy foundations of climate justice.
Honest reappraisals of nuclear energy's role in securing a livable future.
The development of frameworks for holding states, corporations, and international actors accountable for both climate denialism and the suppression of clean energy pathways.
Forward-looking strategies for integrating nuclear energy, hydrogen, synthetic fuels, and allied technologies into just transitions that serve the Global South, indigenous communities, and historically marginalized populations.
Earthrise Journal is committed to interdisciplinarity:We welcome contributions from scholars, litigators, scientists, policymakers, artists, and activists who recognize that addressing the planetary emergency requires both technical expertise and profound ethical vision.
Rooted in the symbolic vision of the Earthrise photograph — humanity's first view of our fragile, interconnected planet — our journal calls for an energy realism and a climate justice worthy of the beauty, complexity, and vulnerability of the world we share.
We believe:
That there can be no climate justice without energy justice.
That there can be no energy justice without embracing the full potential of clean, reliable, zero-carbon technologies, including nuclear.
That realism is not cynicism, but courage: the courage to see the world as it is, and to fight for the world as it could be.
Core Commitments
Truth over ideology: We seek to restore integrity to energy and climate debates by confronting historical and contemporary disinformation campaigns, including those that have unjustly demonized nuclear energy.
Justice across generations: We advocate for solutions that prioritize not only present-day equity, but the rights and futures of generations to come.
Global inclusivity: We elevate voices from the Global South, indigenous communities, and frontline climate defenders whose energy futures are too often dictated by distant powers.
Interdisciplinary dialogue: We foster collaboration across disciplines, recognizing that the solutions to climate and energy injustice will not emerge from isolated silos of expertise.
Invitation
We invite contributors and readers who are ready to move beyond outdated binaries, tired slogans, and short-term political conveniences. We invite those who understand that climate justice demands both realism and radical hope.We invite those who believe that facing the full truth of our predicament is the first act of real care for our shared planet.
